Accord to the website TV By the Numbers the first episode of Battle of the Exes was watched by an average of 1.9 million viewers and was the second highest rated cable show of the evening.
If you look at the website you might notice that the website, you’ll notice that there were a good number of shows that had more viewer that Battle of the Exes, but the rating itself was lower. Well, many people don’t understand what TV ratings mean so I will try to explain it as best I can:
The rating on the website (Battle of the Exes scored a 1.2) is measured from within a certain demographic, in this case 18-49 year olds. The number measure the total percentage of houses that own TVs, from within the given demographic, that tuned into the specific program.
So in other words: 1.2% of all TV-owning households with adults aged 18-49 were watching Battle of the Exes last night at 10.
Is this rating good? Well, it’s certainly not terrible. While the challenges have seen better ratings, they’ve also seen worse. Rivals began with ratings lower than this and ended with ratings higher. Hopefully the season will gain some momentum and the ratings will pick up a little bit.
