This season was the second time we saw Wes & Mandi working together as a team. The two met on Fresh Meat 2 when Wes picked Mandi to be his partner even though Mandi gave him flashbacks of his first Fresh Meat partner Casey.
The two qualified as exes because they hooked of on Rivals. They won in the first Dome against Nate & Priscilla, making them a feared team among the other competitors.
Wes is no stranger to elimination rounds. I feel that many of the challengers, particularly the veterans, try to avoid the elimination rounds. For Wes, they are opportunities to take out other competitors and an alternate way to make it to the end. In fact, he has competed in a total of 14 elimination rounds and this is only the 3rd that he’s lost. I’d say winning 11 elimination rounds is pretty good.
Of course, this was his first time facing off against Leroy. Lee has proven to be a strong competitor and made it to the final challenge of Rivals without ever setting foot into the Jungle. So taking out Wes in your first elimination round is a major feat.
The first time Wes & Mandi were partners, Wes was the one the got too tired to keep a steady pace during the Exile while Mandi was yelling at him to hurry up. In this Dome Mandi was able to defeat Naomi while it was Wes that was unable to defeat Leroy. Even though Mandi has won far less elimination rounds than Wes, it seems like both times they were on a team it was Wes’s fault that they didn’t win.
Stop Being Polite
