Was There a Reason Devin Called Out Callum?

When Devin came into The Arena on episode 7, the cast was shocked to hear him call Callum into elimination — they didn’t even know about the “chaos” twist. Then, Devin asked the audience to pick his opponent. Most people stayed quiet, a few people said Corey, and Corey was even ready to volunteer.

Then, out of the blue, he called out Callum. But, was it really that random?

Apparently, Devin entered the game with his target set on Callum.

This seems random, but around this time, a new relationship was blossoming. Devin had been spending time with Jessica, who was the first person eliminated from the show. It was also around that time that fans started picking up clues that the two were seeing each other. Later, Jessica talked about the relationship with Devin when she said he convinced her to sign up for OnlyFans.

Apparently, Jessica told Devin that Callum was rude and he should take Callum out.

So, Devin goes into the game, and he knows nothing. He’s unlikely to call out one of his friends, even if it’s someone like Jay or Emanuel, who he’s not super close with. This reduces the number of candidates, but there are still many people that he could have picked.

However, he is close with Michele, and the episode made it seem like Devin was unaware Michele was in a relationship with Callum.

Michele has address this, and confirmed that she told Devin not to pick Callum. She also said there was a “comment that wasn’t shown” on TV — perhaps that pertains to Jessica’s request?

Of course, this is mostly rooted in rumors, so it’s possible that the decision was truly random. I can’t understand why production would want to bury this drama, but we also know production likes to leave juicy content on the cutting room floor.

Regardless of the reason, Devin didn’t break any rules, and he did successfully cause chaos by calling Callum’s name. So, this trip to The Challenge was a success for him.
