The Zach Nichols Podcast is no stranger to hot takes, but one of Zach’s recent comments stirred up a controversy in an unexpected way. On episode 33, the Real World: San Diego alumnus confessed that he looks at Big T different because he knows she “farts like a sailor.”
To be clear, he seems to have commented on this because Ed called out Big T’s farts during the Battle for a New Champion reunion when he was asked which cast member had the most disgusting habits.
In his rant, Zach stated that he finds it disgusting when a woman admits to passing gas, and he’s never heard Jenna fart. Then, he started to make jokes with the podcast’s cohost where he stated that there should be special rooms for women to fart in so they don’t have to subject other people to the smell.
Like a good friend, Melissa defended Big T as soon as the clip started circulating. She stated that she’d been a fan of the podcast prior to this, but she finds it disgusting to shame a women for having normal bodily functions, and she called Zach a “male chauvinist pig” for his comments.
Today is also the day that Big T’s episode of The Challenge: Home Turf premieres. Melissa explains that this is an emotional episode because Big T discusses her coming out process and her adoptive father’s death.
Big T doubled down on the response, and claims her “faith in humanity diminishes” due to comments like Zach’s, especially after showing her vulnerability during Home Turf.
Zach hasn’t responded yet, but we know this type of commentary is not abnormal for him. Even after becoming a father to three children, including two (presumably) fartless daughters, he still finds it appropriate to mock a girl because she passes gas. It’s surprising that Ed’s fart comment was even left in the final edit of the season 39 reunion, but without Big T’s farts, Ed wouldn’t have had a single comment on the show.
