Challenge: Battle of the Eras

Jordan Wiseley Calls Out The Challenge for Its Living Conditions

Generally, conditions aren't great. On Season 40, they were worse.

The Challenge: Battle of the Eras debuts in about a month, and Jordan has broken his silence on the cast’s treatment while filming.

In an Instagram video, he claims that cast members “eat like shit,” “sleep like shit,” and 20-hour days are very common. So, everyone who appears on the show leaves the house in worse shape than they entered in.

Jordan, who also lived in a bunker during Total Madness, claims that Season 40 was the worst treatment that the cast has ever received. And, months after filming, he’s still feeling the effects of being on the show.

While these claims are quite jarring, there is one thing to consider: Jordan is also trying to get back into shape and he’s posting his journey on Instagram. So, the video also serves as an invitation for fans to follow his fitness videos. This might seem like he’s using the scandalous claim to get attention on this project, but it’s not a paid fitness program, so Jordan isn’t gaining a whole lot when followers join his quest to get back into shape.

Jordan’s claims also align with rumors about the season. Spoiler sources like Vevmo and Gamer have stated that the Challenge house wasn’t great, the bathrooms were just port-o-potties, and the food was awful.

It seems other cast members support Jordan’s message. Nehemiah wrote “I feel like you were talking directly to me,” and Ashley K. said she “[needs] this too” (Ashley is on All Stars 5, which also filmed in Vietnam). Based on these responses, it seems clear that many people would appreciate better filming conditions.

  1. I love Jordan, and I have always found him to be brutally honest. I love the challenge, but I have also seen some of the conditions they’ve been on in various series and total Madness was horrific because they were in a bunker where they couldn’t have been much fresh air. I plan to watch season 40, and I love TJ Lavin, I do. But if Jordan tells me that the living conditions were less than what this cast deserves then I believe him. But I also want to believe that this is not on TJ. He genuinely respects these folks or they wouldn’t be there. Now I’m going to go check out Jordan’s video. And Jordan if you’re reading this, I want you to know that you have always been an inspiration to me. So many times in my life I felt like that there were things that I could not or should not do because I have limitations. But you taught me that they don’t have to be limitations, they can just be challenges and I can win them if I want to. God bless you Jordan wisely, and God bless TJ Lavin. I can’t wait for this season to come out, but I’ll be watching it with wide open eyes. As long as there is the MTV version of The Challenge, I will be with you. Thank you.

    1. Why would the conditions of the house have anything to do with TJ? He’s the just the host. He may not even step foot in their house. The conditions of the house is entirely on production. Production has been dropping the ball with this show for the last 5 years or so. Whether it’s the living conditions, editing of the show, inconsistencies of the rules or the game; everything has fallen back on production.

      1. I didn’t say it was on TJ, in fact I said I was sure it was not on TJ. Please reread my comment. I would never say anything against TJ because I know that he has the utmost respect for the cast members and he genuinely cares for their safety and well-being. I don’t know if you misunderstood what I said or if you read my comment wrong but it was clear that my intention was to say that I know this is not on TJ
