At the end of Battle for a New Champion, we watched Olivia betray Nurys. At the reunion, Nurys seemed willing to forgive Olivia, but she didn’t plan on rebuilding a friendship.
Time has passed, both girls are on Battle of the Eras, and they’re on the same team. Will time heal the wound, or has Nurys really moved past her friendship with Olivia?
Six cast members revisited the betrayal while doing Season 40 prep, and it seems Nurys still holds resentment.
Nurys recapped the moment with Kyland and Horacio. While discussing the betrayal, she mostly stuck to facts until we saw Olivia say she was sorry. Then Nurys points out that Olivia has “no remorse in her face” as she apologizes.
We also see a clip of Colleen saying “If you have friends like Olivia, you don’t need enemies in your life.” Nurys agrees with this statement, stating it was the one valuable thing Colleen said all season.
While Nurys still seems bitter over the incident, Olivia seems to regret it.
While explaining the situation to Amanda and Michele, Olivia wishes she could redo the vote, and she would have betrayed Michele and saved Nurys.
Olivia also praised Nurys’ strength and she noted how many people Nurys eliminated during the season. However, Olivia wasn’t the only one to sing praises to Nurys. Kyland and Horacio also applauded her for the victory that sent them home.
Going into Battle of the Eras, I wouldn’t bet on Olivia and Nurys being close. Perhaps Nurys has a good poker face, but it seems she still has sour feelings toward Olivia. Meanwhile, Olivia definitely seems willing to rekindle the friendship — and that may be a necessity with the number of veterans and champions in the house.
Of course, Amanda ended the video by throwing a few jabs at Michele. There was no chance these two were going to get through this segment without some shady comments toward each other.
