The last-minute promo for Season 40 is continuing, and The Challenge is hosting a fan event at La Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles on Sat., Aug. 10, from noon to 4 p.m.
This event will include a chance to check out never-before-seen relics from the show and competitions where attendees can win Challenge swag. There will also be a 1-hour meet and greet with cast members.
While we don’t know who will be there, cast members like Tori, Darrell, Tina, Nurys, and Emily have posted on social media about the event, so there’s a good chance fans will see those faces there.
However, there really isn’t a lot of time for people to plan their attendance. There had been rumors of an LA event happening, but there was no concrete information until this morning. These rumors also stated that cast members are neither being paid to appear nor reimbursed for travel expenses, though this is not confirmed. However, when a fan complained of the short notice, Veronica responded by saying cast members have known about the event for at least a month.
Of course, this event is more of a courtesy to local fans in LA. It doesn’t impact the vast majority of viewers unless something big is revealed. Most likely, it will just serve as an opportunity for MTV to collect promo photos of cast members interacting with fans, just like they did before Dirty Thirty.
