Each time a season of The Challenge debuts, we get the same question: Will episodes be available on Paramount+ the next day?
It looks like season 40 will be just like season 39. No, they will not be streaming immediately. You’ll need MTV to access the show.
Recently, Julie Pizzi (Bunim Murray Production’s president) did an interview with Variety where she answered the question head-on.
Pizzi stated that she doesn’t really have any say over the decision because Paramount tells BMP who they’re producing for, and that means that Paramount can decide to reserve the season for MTV. However, she also stated that she has faith in Paramount’s business decisions and their goals.
So, I’d expect Paramount will keep the show off Paramount+ while new episodes are airing and for a few months after that. Battle for a New Champion finished airing in March 2024 and it didn’t make its way to Paramount+ until July 2024.
So, if you want to watch the season unspoiled, you better find a way to access MTV.
