Viewership took a drop last week. Did CT’s departure hurt it even more?
Episode 6 was viewed by 382,000 people with a 0.16 rating in the 18-49 demographic. This is a decrease of 24,000 viewers compared to episode 5 and the demo went down by 0.04. It was the seventh highest-rated cable show of the night.
It seems some viewers have soured on the show, perhaps because of Laurel’s comments, or maybe because CT is now gone. However, MTV doesn’t seem to care much. A new season of Survivor began airing last week, and once again, MTV has The Challenge airing in the exact same time slot. As a result, this episode received the same viewership as Battle for a New Champion episode 6 and the 18-49 demo is actually lower than last season’s comparable episode.
