Both Josh and Laurel have been eliminated from season 40, but their story might not be over. There are rumors of an unaired hook up that one person denies, but the other claims is very true.
The rumor started on Morgan Willett’s podcast when Laurel discussed her relationships on the show. During the interview, Laurel stated, “I had a male friend tell me he had feelings for me, that I was not expecting.” Then, when Morgan asked if Laurel kissed anyone Laurel said, “I did get kissed.”
It wasn’t difficult for fans to piece the story together and realize the “male friend” was Josh.
After his elimination, Josh spoke with Entertainment Weekly where the rumor was addressed. He claimed that nothing happened, and he’s not friends with Laurel. This may come as a surprise to some viewers because Josh and Laurel have worked together in the past. Specifically, they seemed to be close at the star of War of the Worlds 2.
Well, in true Laurel fashion, she wasn’t going to let Josh get in the last word — especially when the story isn’t over. On Twitter X, Laurel said that when she was in Florida, Josh said he was falling in love with her and the he knew he had feelings for her for eight months.
Laurel also said there’s a clip that’s shown at the reunion, so their unaired kiss may see the light of day. But, keep in mind, a lot of footage from the reunion doesn’t make the final edit.
We also need to give Josh some grace. If there is a reunion clip, he probably can’t leak spoilers in the Entertainment Weekly interview. But, he was also pretty definitive in his language, stating: “There is nothing there and there never was.”
Hopefully, we see the clip at the reunion so we can put the rumors to rest.
