Want to get on a future season of The Challenge? One fan asked this to Cara Maria on Instagram, and she gave an unfiltered answer.
She started off with a real response — she was cast on the show via Fresh Meat. She auditioned for The Real World/ Road Rules, and Fresh Meat sourced the bulk of its competitors from that casting pool. For those of you who weren’t following the show in 2008/2009, Real World casting almost always mentioned the potential of getting on Road Rules, even though the show was on hiatus at that point.
Then, she addressed the best way to get on the show now. Your best chance is to move abroad, audition for a random reality show, any old thing will do. That’s where The Challenge scouts for its new competitors.
Clearly, she’s kind of kidding, but there’s a kernel of truth in there. If you watched Spies, Lies and Allies, you’ll know MTV knows no boundaries when it comes to casting in the modern era.
This might also be an Easter egg, because season 41 is rumored to be sourcing new players from international shows. But most likely, that’s not the case, this is probably just commentary on the current state of the Challenge, and it’s good to see someone is talking about it.
