Challenge: All Stars: Rivals

Did It Makes Sense for Faysal to Send Aneesa & Ashley Into the Jungle?

Did it make sense for Faysal not to send in a star-holding team?

Episode 4 of All Stars Rivals seemed to promise a change of pace. Adam & Steve wanted to face another star-holding team in the Jungle (preferably Leroy & Devin), and they wanted to disrupt the status quo of the game.

This move looked like it might have even benefited Faysal & Amber, the power team, but instead they sent in Ashley & Aneesa.

Aneesa felt betrayed because she thought she had a good friendship with Faysal, but he did have a decent reason to send in Aneesa: She said his name on Ride or Dies. Even so, it still kind of made sense to keep Ashley & Aneesa around. That was a different season and the girls had Faysal & Amber’s back on this show; plus they weren’t a huge threat in the game.

Then, the girls went home. Faysal didn’t seem impacted, but it seems that there may be a bigger plan under the surface.

According to Frank, Aneesa’s biggest ally this season was Devin. So, by taking Aneesa out of the game, Faysal was really taking an indirect shot at Devin. This also allowed Faysal & Amber to maintain all of their active alliances, and they had a lot.

Frank’s web of alliances

No one really expected Adam & Steve to lose, so now Faysal & Amber can spend another week flying under the radar without needing to break any of their alliances.

This explanation also adds some context to the edit we saw on TV. Faysal said he was aligned with Devin & Leroy, but he didn’t know if they’d remain loyal — likely because he recognized Aneesa as Devin’s main ally (and Dario is probably considered Leroy’s main ally). So, he knew that he probably wasn’t part of Devin’s end game.

Given this, it seems like the Big Brother team won’t have a long time to remain neutral. With so many allies, it will be impossible to not betray a few of them this season. Those decisions will come sooner than later, but they’re probably smart to defer stabbing someone in the back until its absolutely necessary… even if it makes the show more boring for viewers.

Fortunately, this web of alliance seems to foreshadow drama in the future. Perhaps it will have something to do with Devin and Dario’s confrontation next episode.
