Another former Challenge star has gotten himself into trouble for some very serious allegations. Cashel Barnett was arrested in Salt Lake City this morning for domestic violence charges relating to alleged incidents that happened last month.
According to TMZ, his charges include slapping his ex girlfriend in front of their child. He also picked her up by her neck and threw her on a bed, restricting her ability to breathe and nearly causing her to pass out.
Cashel is currently being held without bail for multiple felony charges and multiple misdemeanors. He will have a hearing later this week to determine what bail, if any, will be set.
Cashel first appeared on the first season of Love Island that aired on CBS in 2019. Much of his storyline that season surrounded his relationship with castmate (and future Challenge USA costar) Kyra.
He later joined the cast of The Challenge: USA 1. He was eliminated in episode 2 after a disappointing elimination performance, and he hasn’t been involved with the Challenge since then.
Let’s hope justice is served. It’s deeply saddening to hear he is involved with domestic violence charges, and if he’s guilty, he could face serious jail time for the felonies.
