MTV Is Apparently Blocking Jordan from Doing The Traitors

The Traitors season 4 is preparing to film, and it seems the show wants some Challenge representation — but it might not happen. Jordan recently revealed on Instagram that he’s been contacted by multiple TV shows, including the Traitors, but he couldn’t attend because he was under contract with MTV.

This isn’t exactly new, cast members have always had contracts that limit other TV projects. If they receive an opportunity to do another show, they need to seek permission from MTV.

Sometimes, producers allow cast members to film other shows — conceivably CT and Bananas were granted permission before doing season 2 of the Traitors. But it seems MTV only makes exceptions for some of its stars.

Jordan only revealed that he was contacted for the Traitors in response to a comment Josh made. Josh said that he wanted to see MTV producers respect their Latin cast members the same way they treat their “Caucasian favorites.” Likely, Jordan felt compelled to respond to this because MTV allowed Josh to film two non-MTV reality shows (Los 50 on Telemundo and Destination X on NBC).

It’s a bit unclear who Josh was referring to when he was discussing Latin cast members who are getting snubbed by production. Perhaps he’s referring to himself, but he has gotten more outside opportunities than most people on the show.

It’s clear that Jordan is one of production’s favorites, so it’s surprising that he isn’t getting the same treatment as someone like Wes or CT. If he performs well on another show, he could conceivably generate interest in the Challenge — more than someone like Josh, who’s also associated with Big Brother.

At this point, it seems unlikely that Jordan will be on the Traitors soon, because there’s only two ways for him to appear: get permission from production or wait for his contract to expire. Given that he was just on season 40, the latter scenario won’t happen any time soon. At least he’ll still have opportunities to return to the Challenge, because he seems to be very successful there.
