Johnny Bananas Chimes In to Jordan’s Challenge Crossover Drama

It's all fun and games after Johnny gets involved.

It seems like Jordan ruffled a few feathers when he revealed MTV won’t let him do the Traitors. A few cast members have responded to his comments, showing varying levels of support.

Kellyanne and (kind of) Trishelle supported the idea that Challengers should be able to do other shows. Kellyanne was scratching her head, because she felt Jordan would do great on the Traitors and his appearance could serve as cross promotion for The Challenge.

Trishlle expressed doubts that Jordan was ever asked, but she also said that MTV wasn’t crazy about the idea of her doing other shows. She first did it in 2004 for the Surreal Life, and producers weren’t happy, but they eventually asked her back to do more shows (in 2007 she did the Las Vegas reunion).

Trishelle also briefly explained the casting process, hence why she doubted Jordan getting a casting offer. However, she also threw in a little zinger at the end, claiming that The Traitors probably didn’t care about Jordan because only Challenge fans would know him. Jordan rebutted this in a video response, outlining his TV credentials.

Trishelle and Jordan’s commentary was somewhat insightful with a little pettiness in the mix, but Bananas chimed in with a purely petty response. The former Traitors and House of Villains star joked that he’s had “a million producers from other shows” asking to cast him, including people from Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

It’s no secret Bananas has had many opportunities to participate on shows outside of the MTV sphere, so this comment struck a nerve with some people, including Susie who said he was basically one of the show’s producers and surrounds himself with fake friends.

Unsurprisingly, Bananas’ response also ruffled Jordan’s feathers — according to Jordan, Bananas has complained about casting difficulties many times in the past. Jordan also suspects Bananas’ was “throwing shade” at the situation because producers wanted him to redirect the narrative, which is something they do (idk when they’ve done this in the past though).

While many people have rallied behind Jordan, believing he’d be a good addition to shows like the Traitors, some people think he’s biting the hand that fed him. His season 40 foe Tina chimed in to say she wasn’t surprised that Jordan was complaining again, then she doubled down in a lengthy post where she said Jordan’s intentions weren’t to improve conditions for all cast members.

Tina believes Jordan’s just mad the system didn’t bend to him this time, and she seemed to side with production’s decision to limit Jordan from doing other shows. After all, he’s done some bad things in the past and MTV allowed him to rehabilitate his image. Other networks won’t protect cast members who do controversial things.

Johnny may be familiar with this difficulty — he had to scramble to protect his image after a small controversy on Netflix’s Pop the Balloon. While there really wasn’t much substance to that scandal, it’s no secret that MTV has covered up some of his past antics. They can’t control the narrative when they allow cast members to appear on other networks, so it’s no surprise they’d want to keep their talent on a tight leash.
