The season 41 trailer is here… and it’s kind of a nothing bomb. We saw some clips from the season, but we didn’t get a whole lot of information. In the case of most trailers, the moments blur together for viewers, but not for me. I slowed things down and grabbed some screenshots to try and get some information from the 90-second video.
⚠️ Note: There are no firm spoilers here, but you might be able to piece together some information about the season. Proceed with caution.
1. There’s some type of interrogation

We see Dee getting asked how she won Survivor, and she credits the victory to manipulation. Clearly, this is some type of interrogation, but she’s awfully forthcoming here. There’s a good shot that this clip comes from the initial partner selection process.
2. It’s a War of the Worlds Vibe

The challenges have a pseudo-apocalyptic, Mad Max vibe. This is very reminiscent of War of the Worlds 1, which is likely intentional. Just like that season, this season is half veterans and half newbies.
3. Competitors Play as Partners

We see a lot of clips from Challenges, and it’s pretty clear that people are working in teams of two, one vet and one new threat. That will be the format, at least for a portion of the season.
4. The Partners Aren’t Consistent

It looks like there will be opportunities to switch teammates. Per usual, CT got a lot of attention in the trailer. At one point he’s clearly working with Leka, but he’s working with a different girl (America, I believe) at a different point. We also see Jake working with Cara Maria and Aviv at different points.
5. Some Eliminations Will Return

We see various eliminations during the trailer, but some look familiar. It seems like Oppenheimer, seen on Free Agents and Pole Wrestle are going to appear. However, we don’t know for certain if these are the exact same eliminations or a variation of a familiar game.
6. Turbo Is Still Hot Headed

There is very little drama in the trailer, but we do see Turbo and CT yelling at each other. Leave it to Turbo to crawl under someone’s skin every season.
7. Aneesa is Shocked

Every trailer has a shot of a competitor on the sidelines with a shocked face. Usually it’s Tori or Aneesa, and since Tori isn’t on this season, Aneesa gets to be shown aghast. She looks great though, she’s clearly been working on her physique.
8. The Veterans Are Still Getting Hurt

We see a lot of clips from daily challenges, but one of the more notable moments is of Derrick submerged in water in a crate. He calls out for help, indicating a struggle. On Battle of the Eras, a lot of the Era 1 players struggled and got hurt during the game — Derrick included.
9. CT Gets the Most Attention

As expected, CT got a lot of screen time, and this isn’t a good thing. CT is very popular, and he doesn’t need to do anything to maintain that popularity. If production is showcasing him, it might mean there isn’t a lot of new footage that will draw interest. It also feels like Cara Maria, Turbo, Dee, America, Justin, and Adrienne had more screen time than average.
10. TJ Hates Cheaters

In the trailer, TJ claims that he hates cheaters more than quitters. This draws a shocked reaction out of the crowd, and there seems to be a large number of people standing before TJ. This could mean the moment comes early in the season. Likely, this moment is overblown for the trailer and the “cheating” isn’t a huge controversy.
