One of our reigning champions seems to be content ending her Challenge career on top. Jenny West announced she doesn’t plan on returning to The Challenge.
The Total Madness and Battle of the Eras winner went on Instagram to answer fan questions. She said she was proud of herself for winning her seasons and for her accomplishments on the show, but she “wouldn’t do it again.”
This is a bit surprising because she recently won a significant amount of money on season 40. While she entered the season without many allies, she became close with the “Bananas Angels” alliance throughout her time filming. By the end of the season, she walked away with many new, close friends.
Jenny shared her first-place win with Rachel due to the karma points twist. Though she had the best performance in the final race, Jenny seemed really grateful to be co-winners with Rachel. Some people may have been bitter with this outcome, but there’s no indication it’s the reason Jenny feels she’s done with the Challenge.
Jenny didn’t share a clear reason for her retirement, but it seems very likely that the time commitment could factor into the decision. Some seasons take up to three months to film, and Jenny runs a coaching business. This is a long time away from her clients.
She also has had some frustrations with the casting process. Jenny was an alternate for both Double Agents and the World Championship. Despite being a champion, it doesn’t seem producers are super invested in her story arc.
Generally, Jenny has received a positive edit on the show, so her reasons for leaving are purely speculative. There’s always a chance she’ll change her mind in the future, but this news must be a relief for the other female competitors, because Jenny is tough competition.
