In a not-so-surprising turn of events, Nia was declared medically unfit to compete on Vets & New Threats after the third elimination. We saw the cast drop their jaws in disbelief, but this outcome was kind of obvious. She didn’t compete in the Water Tower challenge, her knee had been hurting all season, and TJ declared the third Arena a women’s Arena without a coin flip.
When Nia departed from Vets & New Threats, she expressed her disappointment for leaving for a medical reason. She said she’d be back because she didn’t want to end her Challenge career on such an unsatisfying note.

It turns out Nia’s knee injury may be more serious than we were led to believe. She posted on her Instagram Story to announce that she has retired, attributing the departure to her “janky knees.”
Nia expressed gratitude for her time on the show, so this likely isn’t a choice she wanted to make. However, it seems to be the best choice for her health and recovery.
Nia has shown a lot of growth in her more recent seasons, and she’s really transformed her character on the show. She even made the All Stars 3 final, so the idea of her winning wasn’t too far fetched.
It’s sad to see Nia retire because of her knees, but we all know Challengers love to come out of retirement, so for now, I’m interpreting this as a “see you later” message and not a “see you never” message.
