The Challenge: Vets & New Threats opened with a big change for one of the cast members: Nany had broken up with her fiancée Kaycee just a few weeks before filming began. But so far, this has barely been acknowledged.
Nany briefly discussed the breakup at the beginning of the season, but her comments didn’t really explain much to viewers. She said that she and Kaycee are cool, and there really isn’t any juicy story behind the separation. However, Nany did say that all questions would be answered if we follow her Challenge journey — but there are still questions.
So, Nany answered a few of them on Snapchat, including a question about whether she was still single and still a lesbian.
Nany understandably showed frustration when her orientation was questioned. She said no, she’s not a lesbian, nor was she ever. She identifies as bisexual, and that’s been on display since her time on Real World: Las Vegas. When the season was airing, MTV made a fairly big deal about her kiss with Heather (though that was a bigger moment for Heather’s story).

In regards to being single, Nany said she still is. She plans on taking time to do some self discovery. She might date a man in the future, or she might date a woman, but that’s yet to be determined.
To be clear, Nany definitely has not reignited her relationship with Kaycee. She stated that she remains friends with her ex, but Kaycee has a new girlfriend. So, they don’t really talk out of respect for the new girl.
She also discussed that she’s working to shift her priorities in life and not define her worth based on children or a partner. She continues to remain invested in The Challenge, and spoke about how she likes embracing the opportunities given to her.
In some regards, it seems Nany is in a new chapter in her life, but it also seems she is embracing aspects of her identity that she’s always had, even if she hadn’t labeled them in the past.
