After an uptick last week, can viewership keep climbing?
The Challenge: Vets & New Threats: Episode 4 was watched by 590,000 live viewers and received a 0.19 rating in the 18-49 demographic. This is a major increase of 271,000 viewers compared to episode 3, and the demo is up by 0.06. It was the 3rd highest-rated cable show of the night (and 9th overall program for people in the 18-49 demo).
This is a huge improvement for the show — to the point that it almost feels like an error. Viewership nearly doubled, but if this is the new direction for the season, I see good things in the future for The Challenge. This also makes The Challenge MTV’s best-performing show of the week by a big margin.
Here are some benchmarks to compare this episode:
Vets & New Threats Episode 3: 319,000 viewers (0.13 rating)
All Stars Rivals Episode 4: 342,000 (0.14 rating)
Battle of the Eras Episode 4: 479,000 viewers (0.21 rating)

Hope next episode is better so the new people watching are actually watching something good, it’s decent the season so far but this was the worst episode and it’s not close.
