Bananas and Will are finally explaining their love triangle with Dee from two different angles.
The two competitors united to film an episode of the Death, Taxes, & Bananas podcast, Bananas kicked off a conversation with Will, talking about both sides of the Dee story.
As we heard on episode 2, Will and Dee’s romance began in the hotel before filming actually started (the cast is always sequestered for a couple of days before the competition truly begins). According to Will, all of the rookies were playing “phone tag” and using hotel phones to call each other.
Eventually, Dee and Will spoke. Dee encouraged Will to sneak over to her room. Will went for about 30 minutes and says they made out and there was some hand action. But then he returned to his room. He figured this flirtation would continue when they went to the main house because Dee claimed that he liked him.
Allegedly, Dee and Bananas had spoken before departure, but Will had no idea their conversations took place. So when the rookies and veterans united inside the house, Dee quickly started to talk with Bananas (which we saw on TV). At this point, Bananas had no idea Will and Dee had their rendezvous in the hotel.
Because both men were oblivious, they ended up in the same bedroom and they could see each other’s bunks.
Will also admits he drank a lot the first few days in the house — hence his outburst on episode 2. He also believes Dee used this as an excuse to call things off because she claimed she didn’t like his actions when he drank.
Obviously, this stirred up some emotions, but Will also claims a lot of the drama we saw wasn’t a result of Dee or Bananas — him punching a chair on the bus was due to a conversation with Gabe. On the other hand, Bananas wasn’t fully aware of Dee’s relationship manipulation that she used to win Survivor (and she discussed in her confessionals this season).
Dee eventually told Bananas about her hotel hottie, this happened while Will was having his outburst on the balcony and Bananas and Dee were lounging on the deck. Later, Bananas cleared the air with Will in their bedroom, because it would have been super awkward to share a room with unresolved tension.
This made way for Will to hook up with Nany, another one of Bananas’ exes. But Bananas was gone before that showmance started.
Later in the episode, Will talked about the rumored hookup with Aneesa. He mentioned this saga began when he was drinking heavily at the beginning of the season. Aneesa “unwillingly” led Will to her bed to sleep it off. Apparently, Aneesa boasted that Will spent the night with her, though he was “black out” drunk. The night after he got eliminated, Will partied with Aneesa again, and he blacked out. Aneesa helped him back to the hotel, and he stayed in her room, but he doesn’t remember anything beyond Aneesa asking him to cuddle. They drunkenly made vacation plans together (remember, Aneesa’s in the Vacation Alliance), but Will canceled those plans when he sobered up. So, Will heavily implied that Aneesa lied about this hookup.
