Are The Women Really Powerless?

After this week’s episode of Battle of the Exes, we saw Robin sit in the background and Mark based the team decisions solely on his opinion.

It seems to me on this challenge the men are playing two roles: the team captain or tamer of the woman. For example, look at Mark and Robin. Mark makes all the decisions while Robin sits in the background. Then there’s Paula and Dunbar.  Paula is usually very strong minded, but her decisions aren’t always the smartest political moves. Dunbar must try to tame Paula so her moves don’t ruin his political game.

Of course we also have CT and Diem. The two can barely communicate. If they do communicate it might have very negative results.

So to answer the question of whether or not women are powerless we must look to past challenges. Of course, the answer is no. They are no powerless. Unless they allow themselves to be. Many of the challenge women follow the ideas of the guys and for this reason many of the guys are used to submissive women on these shows.

Ultimate, the women are part of the team. If they don’t have the support of their partner it will hinder their performance somewhere down the road. Both members of the team will have to cross the finish line together to take home the grand prize.

Perhaps the team the works the best is a team with two women. Could this be the area where Rachel and Aneesa have their advantage.
