Battle of the Exes

Rachel & Aneesa: It Was Fair

Going into this season I had my doubts. In the past couples of seasons we’ve seen a lot of challenges where the guys took the lead and the girls were forced to take a back seat. So having a team that was made of just girls seemed like it could be a problem. However, I think BMP did a good job with this one. I think the challenges they created were very fair for Rachel and Aneesa, and there were quite a few times when they had a chance of winning. In fact, their presence required the creation of challenges that were different that the challenges we’ve seen in the past because they had to be more equal to Rachel and Aneesa.

On last night’s episode, Rachel and Aneesa had the advantage. They were allowed to compete during the same round during the “Lube Me Up” challenge, thus allowing them to be able to work together- an advantage that no other team had. So the fact that they didn’t win is a reflection of no one other than the two of them.

As for their Dome? It was hand-off, so they had just as good of a chance at winning as Paula and Dunbar. The Banded Together challenge does seem really difficult. However, the challenge is designed in such a way that balances it out for both teams.

Although I liked this team a lot, and I’m sad they’re gone, I do think they had an equal chance of winning.
