Who Has Really Retired?

Challengers like to state that they’re done with challenges and that they’re “retired.” But how many of these retired challengers have really gone to the challenger retirement home and not checked themselves out?

On this past week’s challenge Mark stated that he’s doing his last challenge. Even if he loses this Dome, he will not be back.

Then there’s Evelyn that stated earlier this year that she’s done with challenges on Twitter.

Now, it’s hard to keep track of every time someone said online that they’re done with challenges. Right now Veronica is stating that she’s done, but who knows if that’s true?

Here are some of the people that lied…

On The Gauntlet 2 Reunion, Mark stated that he was passing the torch. He told Derrick, who was kind of new at the time, to fill his spot. Six seasons later Mark returned for The Duel 2, and of course he’s back on Battle of the Exes.

On The Duel Aftershow, Wes stated that he was done with challenge after winning the largest prize in challenge history. To be fair, he said he wanted to settle down with Johanna, an then the two of them broke up.

While filming True Life: I’m a Reality Star, Tonya was boarding a flight for Australia. Here she said she was filming her last challenge. That turned out to not be true. After Fresh Meat she appeared on The Inferno 3 (which she won), The Island, and The Ruins.

After filming The Inferno 3, Susie stated that she was done with challenges, and that she didn’t mind going out as the Beth of her season. Well, she returned even after say she wouldn’t, a lie Beth never told.

Katie has stated a couple of times that she’s done, but none of them have held true. She said it on The Ruins, but later returned for Cutthroat. Katie herself can admit on thing: she loves challenges.

Of course, Evelyn. She stated after Fresh Meat 2 that she’d only return for The Duel 3. Well, Rivals wasn’t The Duel 3, was it?

Of course, there have been some people that have retired that haven’t liked about it (yet). Let’s look at those people…

Jenn stated after Rivals that she was done with challenges. Now, she wasn’t on Battle of the Exes, so it’s only been one season so far. However, I’d think that she’d want to do Battle of the Exes because she has so many Exes to pick from.

Timmy stated after his loss on The Inferno 3 that he’d be done with challenges. He did bang up his knees pretty badly on the show, but still, he has not returned. Although I dislike when people lie about retiring, I wish that he’s go back on his word.

After her appearance on Road Rules Viewers Revenge, Kina blogged that she was done. Maybe she was scared away after her loss to Svetlana on The Duel, but Kina has not been back.
