Battle of the Exes 2: Top Moments From Episode 1

…and we’re back. A new season of The Challenge means new posts and new pictures. So let’s kick things off with the top moments from episode 1 of Battle of the Exes 2.

1. You’re Back, and So Is Your Ex

The Challenge is back! 26 competitors arrive in Panama with some of their least favorite people in the world… their exes. The cast is tasked with acting like they didn’t know this was going to be the format this season, so they all pretend to be shocked. While some people are paired with someone with whom they have a bitter past, while others are paired with someone they kissed one time. Either way, they better communicate well because that is their parter.

2. Diem’s Plans

The hardest moment in the show was hearing Diem talk about her first two battles with cancer. Keep in mind, this was filmed just days before she was diagnosed for the third time. In this clip Diem is show talking about how her battles with cancer have changed her and that she wants to win because the only way she can have children is through surrogacy, and winning will give her the funds to do that. Because we all know what happens with Diem later on in the season, this pulls especially hard at the heart.

3. High On Love

The cast climbs atop a high building for their first challenge titled I Got You Babe. For this challenge the men are suspended Superman-style while the women have to walk across a tightrope while pulling their partner who is suspended over their heads (view image). Many of the teams struggle with this, but only 4 manage to finish (CT & Diem, Wes & Theresa, Thomas & Hailey, and Johnny & Averey). Wes and Theresa are the first Power Couple because they completed the challenge in the fastest time. For the losing team, Adam and Brittany earn a spot in The Dome for falling after one step.

4. Power-tripping Couple

Wes decides that he needs to use his power for two things: making allies and getting vengeance. First, he tells Jay and Thomas that he will not send them in, knowing that having the support of all of the rookies will help him have numbers on his side. Then, he considers sending in Bananas and Nany because Bananas sent him in early on the first Exes and The Ruins. However, he realizes that there’s no way Bananas will lose, and decides to send in Dustin and Jessica because they’re neither rookies nor vets. So the first Dome will be Adam and Brittany vs. Dustin and Jessica.

5. Falling In the Poles

The first Dome is titled Pole Position where the two teams are tied to two poles: one pole at their arms and one at their legs. They are then expected to move in unison to climb up a ladder. Adam and Brittany develop a rhythm, but move slowly up the ladder. On the other hand, Dustin and Jessica are moving slightly faster. They gain a lead until Dustin pushes a little too hard and pushes Jessica off the ladder. The two fall to the ground and are forced to start over. However, Brittany and Adam reach the bell and win the first Dome. Dustin and Jessica have been eliminated… or have they?

  1. Oh come on, everyone knows Dustin didn’t push Jessica off the ladder. She leaned back and took Dustin with her. She’s pretty useless in these challenges and her 0-3 record in eliminations is not by accident

    • Yeah her performances are really bad. Her performance on Free Agents is overrated. She only contributed to the first challenge. First challenge made it across the platform, Third challenge was against the wall didn’t do anything, Fourth challenge stood there and did nothing, Fifth challenge fell into the water, and the Eighth challenge CT did the hard part of being last one of holding a pose. Not to mention she hesitated doing the ninth challenge. Also having a size advantage against Cara in the Balls In elimination she still lost without scoring once.

Rivals 2 was more Ana’s fault then hers but still the first female team out and of course Exes 2 falls off the rope and leans back on the elimination and loses it for Dustin.

I honestly feel like if they could not get Heather or Cooke for Dustin they should of gotten a different team.

    • They way I worded it definitely seems like I’m blaming Dustin, but that’s not my intent.Pole Position required a lot of balance. Dustin leaning forward could cause the team to fall just as easily as Jessica leaning back could. That’s the only point I want to make.
