At the start of All Stars 4, Laurel and Nicole awkwardly crossed paths. The two had no intentions of talking to each other, but soon enough, the walls started coming down.
The first real connection occurred when Tony left — Nicole’s former Real World roommate and close friend. Laurel helped comfort Nicole, which seemed innocent enough, but it was clearly the beginning of an awkward rekindling.
Both girls admit there’s a strong connection, and they know the relationship will distract them from the game. However, they insist that there isn’t closure.
This feels like a weird statement because closure was the whole point of Ex on the Beach 4. Granted, things didn’t end well that season. Laurel’s time in the house began by hooking up with Nicole, only to discover Nicole had been hooking up with someone else (granted, they had been exes at this point). Laurel also confessed that Nicole cheated while they were exclusive, which is why they broke up in the first place, and Nicole wanted to move on. Laurel was ready to quit the season, but producers talked her into staying… just so she’d be immediately voted out of the house.
This seems like an ending — just not a happy ending. But we all know it gets complicated when two people are under the same roof, and Nicole was very arrogant during her time on Ex on the Beach. Laurel knows there’s a softer side to Nicole, the side she showed after Tony left, but she didn’t really see that person during Ex on the Beach.
In episode 5, we see the exes wrestling on the floor and hunting each other down. It’s an awkward scene but clearly meant to be playful. However, Nicole insists on putting an end to the fun moving forward.
Well, spoiler alert, we all know it’s not gonna happen. Laurel and Nicole dated after All Stars 4… then they had a messy breakup.
While the more recent events help us fill in the blanks, it’s clear that the couple will have some complications in the All Stars 4 house. The more time they spend together, the more people will view them as a unit. This could put targets on their backs, especially because people seem to be content with separating partners this season.
We also know Cara Maria will come into the mix. On episode 5, when Laurel was upset, Cara Maria (and Averey) was sitting there to comfort Laurel. This could be a sign of their friendship being rebuilt, but it could also lead to bigger issues. Specifically, Cara Maria and Laurel’s relationship could become strained if there are future complications between Nicole and Laurel.
At this point, it’s clear Nicole and Laurel will be the will-they-won’t-they couple of the season. And while we know they do get together for a short time after the season wraps, we can also anticipate more drama before the season is done airing.
