Challenge: All Stars 4

Is There Any Reason to Target Cara Maria So Heavily?

After many personal attacks, is there any logic in the move to steal Cara Maria's star?

After eight challenges, Cara Maria has finally lost her star. It’s taken a lot of arguing, devious plans, and a few missed opportunities — but Kam finally orchestrated a plan that worked.

It seems like many people are against Cara Maria this season, and the adversity is starting to take an ugly turn. Laurel and Nicole have been dragging personal vendettas into conversations, and it makes it seem like the effort to get Cara out of the game is more personal and less strategic. Even Kam seems to have a personal reason to dislike Cara Maria this season.

But, personal issues aside, does it even make sense to target Cara Maria?

Of course, it makes sense that the girls wouldn’t want to run the final with Cara Maria. She won Vendettas, and she is the first solo winner of a Challenge seasons. So, based on her history on the show, it seems logical that people would want to avoid running against Cara Maria in a final.

There’s another thing we know about Cara Maria: She’s dangerously good at eliminations. She already sent home Rachel, and no one wants to be the person to go into elimination and take Cara Maria out. Kam claims she wants to face Cara, but conveniently, there’s always a reason that she can’t.

However, this season is different. You can prevent Cara Maria from running the final by stealing her star without actually facing her.

Kam just did this, and it seems like this is the strategy moving forward. So, now the remaining players in the game are likely to sit around and try to block Cara Maria from getting opportunities to earn a star.

The final is approaching, and it’s unlikely Cara Maria will have a lot of opportunities to get another star — but the game isn’t over yet. On prior seasons with similar twists, there always seems to be last minute opportunities to earn your way into the final. But, this means Cara Maria will need to start playing offence after playing defense up to this point.

In an individual game, it does make sense to not want to compete against Cara Maria in a final, but until TJ announces that star holders are finalists, the other girls should be scared. Cara Maria wasn’t sent home; her star was just stolen. So, she’ll remain in the game with a vengeance.

  1. They tried to block Evelyn on The Island, who was also a female beast of a player. Look what happened, she pulled through at the last play anyways and ended up winning the game. Kam and Nicole ain’t shit. Use to love Kam, but everything she says is hypocritical. Laurel is also doing this, confiding in Cara when Nicole hurts her then using it against her when Cara was just trying to stick up for her. I hope Cara pulls through in the end. She deserves it the most.
