The final is here. Let’s hope the competitors have good karma.
A Sinister Start

The finalists head below deck on Sinister, where they find thin mattresses. This is where they will be spending the night before the race begins. A few competitors view this as a good start — at least compared to other finals, but the musty, dusty digs aren’t too appealing to most people. When the cast wakes up, TJ explains that there will be one male and one female winner: each takes home $400,000. The second place finishers get $75,000 each, and the third place finishers get $25,000. The two people who come in fourth overall get nothing.
Karmageddon

TJ surprises the cast by revealing there are karma points in the mix. The players who have the most karma points will get a severe advantage and the players with the fewest points will get a disadvantage. In the end, all of the times from checkpoints will be calculated with the karma points to determine the winner. We then get a montage of the eliminated cast members casting their votes, showing that some people will have good fortune and other could be penalize because someone like Amanda hates them.
Checkpoint 1: Sandblast

Every checkpoint starts and ends on Sinister, and the first task requires the finalists to swim to shore, collect puzzle pieces one at a time, solve a 3D puzzle, and swim back to the boat. Derek is given a 3-minute penalty because he got last place at the previous challenge. Despite this, he picks up the pace and starts passing his opponents, though Bananas isn’t trying to sprint through this entire checkpoint because he knows finals are long and he should conserve his energy.
This is the finishing order:
First: Jordan + Michele
Second: Derek + Jenny
Third: Bananas + Tori
Fourth: Kyland + Rachel
Checkpoint 2: Ghost Ship

Before arriving at the second checkpoint, the finalists are told to go below deck and stand in their assigned spots as the boat travels to the next location. The competitors will then compete in Ghost Ship, which starts by swimming to an abandoned ship and boarding it. Once there, they are told to dive under the boat and memorize a key with symbols. They must recreate the image sequence atop the boat before stopping their time back at Sinister. Michele quickly notices that some of the pieces have very small differences, and memorizing these details will make or break a competitor. Once again, Jordan is the first one to complete the task, but Michele is struggling because one piece is off. Derek gives her some info because he still views this final as Ladies of Leisure vs. Bananas’ Angels.
This is the finishing score:
First: Jordan + Jenny
Second: Bananas + Tori
Third: Derek + Rachel
Fourth: Kyland + Michele
Checkpoint 3: A Thousand Steps

The finalists swim to shore where they’ll find a path with 1,000 steps and clues along the way. These clues allow them to solve a mystery and that mystery allows them to swim back to Sinister and stop their time. Once again, Jordan is first to shore, and the clue tells him to swim 500 meters where he’ll see an image. It’s a skull, and he has to recreate the image on a puzzle board. After him, every Challenger follows the path to get the same assignment, but if they get their puzzle wrong they’ll need to swim back and check again. This misfortune happens to Tori, but Kyland has a misfortune of his own when he gets a massive cramp.
This is the finishing score:
First: Jordan + Jenny
Second: Bananas + Michele
Third: Derek + Rachel
Fourth: Kyland + Tori
Checkpoint 4

The cast gets to the next stage of the final, and it’s the overnight portion. In the sleeping quarters there are chests filled with coins. Finalists will spend 30 minutes counting coins, then they will spend 30 minutes singing “Show Me the Way to Go Home.” The process repeats until every competitor has finished counting. The male and female competitors with the closest guess will win, second places get second, and so on. After the fourth and fifth rounds, some competitors start breaking down — most specifically Jenny, who’s complaining about how uncomfortable she is.
The results… we don’t know. To be continued on part 2.
