Johnny Bananas has been involved in another high-profile case, but this time, he didn’t cause the problem — he was trying to be a savior.
Last Saturday, during the Stagecoach festival, former NFL quarterback John Elway was involved in a golf cart accident where his friend Jeff Sperbeck was riding on the back. Sperbeck fell off the vehicle and sustained injuries that put him on life support, later resulting in his death.
As of now, the case has been ruled a freak accident. When the incident occurred, John Elway and his wife were riding in the front of the cast and Sperbeck was standing on the back with Johnny Bananas. While this seems like an odd pairing, Bananas is friends with Elway’s son, Jack.

According to reports, Sperbeck lost his balance, fell, and hit his head. Immediately after this, Bananas tried to help Sperbeck. Allegedly, Bananas waited with Sperbeck and did anything he could do to tend to his needs. Other people waited for paramedics to arrive.
According to The Sun, there was a lot of blood at the scene. Johnny was trying to comfort Sperbeck until paramedics arrived, at which point professionals took over.
There is no indication of foul play, especially not by Johnny. This truly does seem like an unfortunate accident — and it’s probably not wise to stand on the back of a moving golf cart. But that is a fairly common way for people to get around, but it’s truly sad that this accident involved someone losing his life.
