Cory Confirms Involuntary Break After Final Reckoning

A long-time Challenge rumor has officially been put to rest.

Cory has been answering fan questions about his time on TV, and he clarified a rumor that’s been in the Challenge world for a few years.

A fan asked Cory why he didn’t do either of the War of the World seasons, and he says it’s mostly because he body slammed Tony on Final Reckoning. After that incident, a producer told him that he’d “never do the Challenge again.”

Rumor: Cory didn’t mention this, but it’s believed that his altercation on Ex on the Beach with Cameron also caused him to get in trouble, and it may be the reason he was brought in as a mercenary on Final Reckoning and wasn’t part of the original cast.

Well, it seems this ban was not as permanent as Cory once believed because he received a call for the Challenge 34 (War of the World 2), but he said the timing was off.

Cory also said he wasn’t super bummed about taking a break for Season 33 because that was when he started filming Teen Mom, so the hiatus was welcome. He further said that his time on Teen Mom has encouraged him to take more breaks from The Challenge.

He also explained that he won’t be on season 41 (which we know) because he had two knee surgeries done. He hinted that season 42 might be in his future — but for sure 43.

Clearly, Cory’s Final Reckoning incident didn’t have long-term effects on his employment with MTV, but it’s nice to have the rumor finally confirmed.
