Another MTV couple has called it quits. Cory Wharton and Taylor Selfridge have chosen to separate, according to The Sun.
This news isn’t a huge shock for people who have followed the couple more recently. Fans noticed that Cory and Taylor had been posting less content together and spending more time apart. Cory recently took a trip to Bali with Nelson while Taylor stayed in the US. Then, the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram.
While the couple have been through a lot together (they were a reality TV couple, after all), Cory insisted that he didn’t cheat and there are other reasons for the break up — though there was infidelity in the past. While the specifics haven’t been made public yet, The Sun also reported that Taylor had been waiting for a proposal.
The couple has been together for a long time — about seven years at this point. They met on Ex on the Beach in 2018, and their relationship was chronicled on Teen Mom. Well, some of it was, because Taylor was taken off the show for a while. The couple also shares two kids together: Mila, born in 2020, and Maya, born in 2022.
Likely, more details will emerge in the future, as this relationship has lived in the public eye for years. That doesn’t downplay that this is a sad time for the family — even if it’s the right move for both people in the long run. I don’t think many people expected Ex on the Beach would begin such a serious relationship, and hopefully the two can work well together as co-parents.
