Season 42 has already been filmed, and we know Jordan won’t be on the cast, but the 5-time champ isn’t retired from the game. Recently, Jordan posted an Instagram video working out. In the description, he used a “43” hashtag. and wrote a caption claiming he’s seen a lot of mediocrity in his absence.
This is a clear sign that Jordan hopes to return to The Challenge in the near future. It’s also a fairly expected pattern for him. He tends to take a couple of seasons off and returns to the game when he needs the money. And so far, it’s been a pretty lucrative pattern for him.

But, if you’ve been following Jordan’s recent interviews online, you may know that he doesn’t have a guaranteed spot on season 43. In an interview with the Zach Nichols Podcast, Jordan speculated that he won’t get invited back in the future because he’s too outspoken. He wants the competition to be fair, so he will confront production when he feels rules are unclear or the game is unsafe.
This notably happened when he entered Battle for a New Champion, and Ciarran was allowed to wrestle without penalty. He also allegedly called out production for using unsafe equipment on Battle of the Eras; this may have happened when he got a gash on his face during the Battle for Honor daily challenge.
Still, there’s no denying that Jordan brings a solid level of competition, and most competitors fear him. In fact, no one sent him into The Arena on Battle of the Eras, presumably out of fear of retaliation. This allowed him to take home a fairly uncontested victory that season.
If producers want season 43 to be super competitive, Jordan is a great addition, and there’s no doubt he brings a good amount of fanfare. The biggest issue bringing him into the game would be finding competitors who can take him out. The competition gets boring when people are too scared to make big moves, and that could be a serious issue in some formats.
