If you’ve been watching The Challenge for decades, you’ve likely noticed a change over the years. A show that was once a lighthearted competition has turned into a bloated pseudo-sport.
And you’re not the only one to notice this. CT is right there with you; in fact, he’s lived through the change.

Well, he claims that season 42 is a return to form.
At a recent Challenge Mania event, CT talked about the upcoming season and said the show went back to its roots. Specifically, he said the season focused on the “reality” aspect of the production.
This means the show was more focused on the drama and relationships rather than a season centered on a silly spy theme or gladiator-style competitions. And at this point, that feels like a very welcome change.
It’s hard to fully unpack what CT is implying here, but it almost certainly indicates a change of pace. Given that the show will air on Paramount, this transition almost felt definite. At least it’s nice to see that the franchise is trying to adapt to the new landscape.

at a certain point, we need to stop blaming the cast for being “boring” and instead blame the editors and producers for cutting out all the drama
