The Challenge: Cutthroat (2026) is slated to premiere in just over a week, but the season is already leaving fans scratching their heads.
Today, July 28, 2026 the official Challenge Instagram and YouTube account removed the trailer from its platform. No explanation, no announcement — the clips just vanished.
Even Johnny Bananas joined in the confusion, playfully speculating that the season is too Cutthroat.
Right now, fans are awaiting an explanation. Optimistically, this might be because a super trailer is on the way and it will expand on the original promo. While we generally see a super trailer about a week before the season debuts, we’ve never seen the original trailer get pulled.
So, there’s likely something odd going on. Maybe there’s a small change happening — like a change to the release time or schedule. However, this also seems unlikely because static images are still on The Challenge’s Instagram with that information.
Some fans speculated that there might be licensing issues with the music, particularly an Imagine Dragons song. Or, there could be a clip used in the trailer that producers want to edit out. Either way, evidence suggests the issue is the trailer, and nothing more. Branding for Cutthroat is still on The Challenge’s social pages, and it remains the imagery for The Challenge on Paramount+.
Regardless, this season had seen a shocking lack of promotion. The official Instagram account has only posted one clip beyond the trailer, and that was shared six days ago.
Cast members like Nurys have shared in the disappointment for the lack of promo, but they promise Cutthroat is a good season! So if we want to see The Challenge continue, we need to tune in, even if Paramount is making it easy to forget this season exists.
