On the morning of Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026, former Challenge competitor Hughie Maughan posted on his Instagram and Twitter saying he has passed away. No further information has been provided.
Hughie first appeared on reality TV when he competed on Big Brother UK 17 in 2016. He later appeared on the Irish version of Dancing With the Stars. For US viewers, he appeared on two Challenge season: Spies, Lies and Allies in 2021 and Battle for a New Champion in 2023.
More information is pending, but Ashley Mitchell commented on his Instagram post. She believes this may be a hoax, because Hughie recently said on WhatsApp that his social media accounts had been hacked.
