With great sadness, it’s been revealed that Challenge competitor and Real World: Bad Blood star Anika Rashaun has died.
Anika’s friend revealed this month that the former reality star passed away after a battle with breast cancer. She was diagnosed in summer 2025, and battled with the illness for over a year. She was 34 when she died.
Challenge fans remember Anika from the Bad Blood season of The Real World — the final installment to air on MTV. During that season, she was joined by her ex Will, though their storyline didn’t receive too much attention because the two were cordial.

Anika also appeared on The Challenge: Invasion of the Champions, though she was eliminated before the champions arrived. She competed with her former roommate Theo, and the duo was eliminated on the third episode after the infamous Who’s Got Balls? elimination, which Anika completed.
Off camera, Anika got married on Valentine’s Day 2026, and she worked as a dating coach and content creator in that space. According to her Instagram, she contributed.to articles for Cosmopolitan and Bustle and was working toward becoming a licensed family and marriage specialist.
Viewers who watched Anika remember her for being determined and kind-hearted. She loved to travel, so it’s a shame she only had one opportunity to appear on The Challenge.

Another friend of Anika’s shared a tribute, calling Anika a free spirit with infectious energy. Her memory lives on through her family and friends, and the Challenge fandom will remember her for her positive attitude and for viewing every obstacle as an opportunity. She will be sorely missed.
