The first episode of Battle of the Exes premiered last night! Of course, someone did go home. The first causality of “The Dome.”
I like the rules of the challenge. Whichever team finishes in last place automatically go into The Dome, and the second team competing is chosen by the winner of that day’s challenge. There’s no deliberation and no “mob” this season.
While the rules were a refreshing change, the first winner was not: Johnny and Camila. Rather than toss in a rookie like he wanted to, Wes gave Johnny reason to put Wes & Mandi in the Dome.
Who were they fighting against? Nate & Priscilla. The last-place losers of the day. Did Nate & Priscilla stand a chance? Not at all. So they’ve been sent packing first. While I don’t always like how the newbies get picked off first, I’m even more upset when veterans get voted off too soon (like Robin and Aneesa last season).
We barely got to see Priscilla compete on last night’s episode, but Nate definitely was not a shining star. However, I think he just had a bad day. He probably isn’t the strongest person in the world, but I think that he was overly ambitious and didn’t perform well in the first mission.
So we are now down to a total of 12 teams left. The final challenge will have 3 teams competing in it. First place will split $150,000 second place will split $100,000 and third place will split $40,000. Now that one team is gone, there are 9 more that must be sent packing before the final.
