Anyone watch Basketball Wives on VH1? I definitely do not, but I know that the show is pretty popular. In case you didn’t know, one of the women on the show, Tami Roman (previously Akbar), was on The Real World Los Angeles (the second season of the show).
Tami married Kenny Anderson in 1994, but they divorced in 2001 and had 2 kids together. Still, this qualifies her as a basketball wife.
Let’s take a quick look at what she did on The Real World, because I never watch Basketball Wives and don’t know what she’s done on that show.
On her season, the first episodes were Tami, Jon, and Dominic traveling across the country to the house. This concept later spun off into the show Road Rules.
Tami was a singer during her season. She was in a girl group that amounted to little success.
One of her most memorable moments during the season was when David E. tried to pull a blanket off of her. Because she wasn’t wearing anything underneath, the fought to keep the blankets on. Her roommate Beth (yes, that Beth) called this sexual assault. This incident resulted in David becoming the first person ever kicked off of reality television.
After gaining weight during the season Tami wired her mouth shut so she’d lose weight.
On one episode Tami found out she was pregnant. She decided to get an abortion.
In case you couldn’t figure it out, Tami just sucked.
