The Real World is over 20 years old. So, someone that appeared on the first season or two at the age of 20 would now be 40.
40 seems kind of old to be on a challenge, but maybe not if your body looks like Mark’s.
Even someone like Beth, who was almost 40 when she appeared on The Gauntlet 3 was in good shape.
So, my question is whether or not there is anyone that is too old to be on the show? I personally think that there shouldn’t be a limit, because there are people like Mark that are in good enough shape to still compete. However, there are others that may be in worse shape (to say the least) that probably shouldn’t be on the show. However, these individuals probably don’t have the time to take off and compete on the show.
Additionally, I think that BMP should (and has) respected those that don’t have the time to commit to these shows for reasons such as health or children. While most people are sensible enough to realize that there are bigger commitments, there are some people who would make challenges a priority.
Fortunately, there are both physical and mental health screenings prior to coming on the shows now, so BMP will catch the crazies before they ever set foot on the plane.
In short, I don’t think we need an age limit as long as it’s safe for the person to compete.
As long as they’re still up for the challenge I say no age is too old.
