For some reason, The Duel seems to be the preferred format of fans and cast alike. In fact, there were rumors (emphasis on rumors) that Rivals 2 was supposed to be The Duel 3.
Now, it seems like there is some buzz about the format being used as the next challenge. A few weeks ago, Tyrie implied that if ratings were high enough, the next challenge might be The Duel 3 (this was when the Challengemania pre-show aired):
More recently, Mark posted a suspiciously blunt tweet. Perhaps he’s telling the truth, or perhaps he’s trying to feed fans’ hunger for new challenge news:
Either way, there seems to be a rumor circulating among the cast. What do you think? Should there be a Duel 3?
Stop Being Polite 
I’m all for Duel 3 assuming it would be following the every man for himself style of the previous two seasons of The Duel. Not sure why exactly, since there are still definitely alliances, but the first two duels are some of the best seasons in challenge history in my opinion.

I would love the Duel III man it would be awesome, and it would draw alot of old faces to want to return. They have to somehow know the format before the casting call. Even though all of our favorites all cant come back and we have to include some new-school people, this would be a cool cast

That would be an IDEAL cast. (Maybe not enough newbies for Bunim’s likings but who knows?)
We wont even have a confirmed theme for a while.
That cast is pretty solid but there is only one black person (pretty sure Jonna isn’t black, but I might be wrong) and only a couple other racial minorities of any kind. The Challenge producers do a pretty decent job, at least compared to other reality shows, with putting together a diverse cast. You can probably assume at least some of the following would be cast: Aneesa, Devyn, Marlon, Ty, Leroy, Nia, Tyrie, Preston (tyrie and preston are both pretty awful competitors, but whatever) and maybe a rookie or two from Real World Charleston (you heard it here, Charleston, SC). Otherwise, great list. You did a good job of not listing people from ridiculously long ago who are totally done with challenges (The Miz, Tek, Rachel Robinson, Katie Doyle, etc). Tori just had a kid so I’m not sure if she actually would come back despite maybe saying she’d be interested, Kenny/Evan are in some weird purgatory and Derrick, well, who knows. My goodness we need Laurel back so badly, and Sarah deserves to have a season where she isn’t burdened by some idiot teammate.

alright fair enough on Rachel/Derrick. The return of Darrell would be amazing. The thing is, as far as I understand it, the cast isn’t told what the theme is before they show up (they figure it out sometimes, especially battle of the seasons and probably exes), so that might also throw a fork into getting the older people to show up. Brandon from Fresh Meat 2 definitely deserves another chance as well.
Jonna is mixed race and the duel 2 only had 2 black guys and 2 black girls

I would add Dustin and CJ to that list and I would take of Jasmine and Jonna (nothing personal just never been a fan of them, they don’t really bring anything to the challenges for me except Jonna hooking up every season). I am over Paula now. I also wouldn’t mind see Jess, Jordan, Theresa, Svetlana, Jenn?, Marie, Marlon, Trey, Robb, Kellyanne, Nia, Avery, Ashley (SD), Cooke as well as the older classic vets both male and female.
I put jonna and jasmine on there to be out first and second lol I’m one of the few people who still love Paula, a like Jenn but she said no to be on exes and rivals 2 so I think she is done I put Dustin and cooke on other lists I’ve made BC I’m odd and make fake duels With fake elimination rounds for fun sometimes lol

Hahah I love it! I like Paula I just feel like she gets carried through a lot recently. WIth Jenn I know 😦 but a lot of people say no and would only return for a duel. We could only hope right? Also, with Jonna and Jasmine I would rather have other people take their spots even if they were to go out first and second.

Also, @yaychallenge they don’t know the theme before they show up but if Mark, Tori, Derrick, Evelynn etc who are done with challenges are asked to be on the next challenge they can safely assume it’s a Duel 3, unless MTV is trying to F with them.
Yeah that’s a really good point. I’d hope MTV/BMP would either give them a subtle heads-up or just not bother them id Duel 3 wasn’t the case, unless maybe they were doing an “all-stars” or rookies v. veterans type thing.
That isnt always the case BC team key west was also one of the choices for Sydneys replacement so they would have had to known

Also jek have chased many people off a challenge Kimberly and Johanna said after the way Kenny and his crew treated them they will never come back
I would LOVE to see Evelyn, KellyAnne, Laurel, Emily, Paula, Camila, Cara Maria and Sarah in a challenge again, and it would be very interesting to see those girls compete against each other.
However, I’ve been thinking that ‘The Battle of the Sexes 3’ could be a good show too, with all the strong females that I mentioned, and it wouldn’t be so unfair like the two previous seasons of the sexes.
Not to mention that I would kill to see the Trishelle, Coral, Rachel, Veronica, Katie, Julie, Tina, Tonya (okay, maybe not), Aneesa, Robin and Beth (…) all in one challenge, but we all know that that’s never going to happen. 😦
I would also love to see Kina, Svetlana, Jodi, Cara, Susie, Johanna, Jenn, Casie, Jillian, Ruthie, Kimberly (RW Hollywood), Mandi…
