Alas, the first episode is here! Like previous Real World & Challenge seasons, rather than posting thorough recaps I am going to highlight the tops 5 moments. Most likely you’re not going to read what I write and just view the pictures I ripped, but hey, it’s all good.
1. Welcome to Chicago!
The cast arrives in Chicago! Tony, Sylvia, Bruno, Nicole, Violetta, Jason, and Madison enter the 30th Real World house and as expected they are pumped. The house is equipped with all of the things you’d expect from a Real World house: a pool table, 3 bed rooms, a hot tub, showers that allow minimum privacy, and sloppy camera shots with the camera crew in the background.
2. Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems
The cast celebrates their first night in Chicago by going out and partying! They party a lot, and rake up a bill of over $800. Violetta and Sylvia decide they need to collect all of the money to pay the bill, but Madison only has $50. This sparks a fight, and the guys try to calm down the girls. The fight continues at the house, and it becomes clear that Violetta is kind of jealous that Tony is spending most of his time with Madison and not with her. Oh well, at least Violetta has her girl Sylvia.
3. Smokey Kisses
Madison and Tony start to develop feelings for each other. Of course, every shot of them interacting is also while they’re outside smoking cigarettes. So their first kiss is shared under the romantic glow of a light cigarette.
4. Confessional Kisses
Bruno reveals that out of all of the girls, he is most attracted to Sylvia. Of course, this revelation is made while in the confessional with Sylvia. Flattered by the news, Sylvia immediately kisses Bruno. Perhaps this is the start of a new relationship, or maybe it’s the start of the next disaster.
5. Skeletons Peak Out
Throughout the episode, there are hints at who the skeletons may be. Tony talks about his stalkerish ex-girlfriend, Violetta mentions that she was bullied but rather than be the bigger person she continued the cycle of bullying, and Madison tries to confide in Bruno that she is a recovering heroine addict. Much like Ex-Plosion, there is a ticking timer, this time ticking down to the arrival of the first skeleton.
