Battle of the Sexists: Are the Girls Inferior?

Last week on Battle of the Exes 2 we saw a slightly upsetting conversation between three of the guys in the house: Zach, Jordan & Johnny Reilly. In this conversation, the trio discussed why women are inferior to men.

As we all know, many Challengers have commented on Jordan’s inferiority complex. This likely stems from the fact that Jordan is missing a hand so he tries to overcompensate in the challenges. In this episode, Sarah finally becomes frustrated with Jordan’s supposed inferiority complex. However, Jordan and his friends have a theory as to why Sarah may be the inferior one. When Jordan complains about his partner, Zach chimes in by stating:

“Women were created….” and then Johnny R. fills in the blank by stating that women were created to “,bear children.”

Zach then continues his sentence by saying “from men.” He explains that God took a rib out of Adam and women were created to be…

Jordan then chimes in, reaching the conclusion that men were created to be inferior to women. Zach continues his comment by stating that men should honor women, but the women in the house are not their wives, rather they are “swamp donkeys.” Zach then explains that Sarah should learn to work with Jordan because Jordan is the better athlete. He finishes his conversation with the conclusion:

So here we go. Zach, Jordan, and (kind of) Johnny had what is perhaps the most sexist conversation in Challenge history. And this conversation has not gone unnoticed online.

Now, Zach has a very harsh sense of humor as we’ve learned over the past few seasons. However, the fact that this conversation existed, let alone made it to air, speaks volumes to the differences between the way the three men above treat their partners and the way the other three men threat their partners. For example, Zach downplays Jonna’s ability to compete, yells at her when she underperforms, and makes fun of her in confessionals. On the other hand, Leroy tries to motivate his partner (Nia), praises her accomplishments, and knows his success depends on her performance.

While these are not the most refined gentlemen in the world, being a supportive partner goes a long way. This includes interaction inside and outside of the actual challenges. None of the comments above were said directly to the females partners, but those three men do tend to have communication issues during challenges.

It’s also interesting to note that Zach’s biblical references do not stop on The Challenge. In November, after the filming of Exes 2 but prior to its airing, he posted this instagram picture with Jenna:

The caption on this Instagram post reads: “Chicks been tempting dudes with fruit since the beginning of time #GardenofEden”

While I’m not surprised Zach made these comments, I’m legitimately concerned he thinks women were created from the rib of man and men and women are separate species.

  1. – Jordan would not be sitting comfortably this season had he not had Sarah as a partner.
    – Karma came back to Zach tonight’s episode as Jonna performed and he fucked up both times. Plus he’s emotionally abusive.
    – Nia has outperformed Leroy on a few missions.
    – Jay has gassed out on occasions while as Jenna has been handling these missions fine.
    – Theresa has been outstanding.

You tell me? Haha. The girls in the final 6 have been nothing but great partners to these assholes.

  2. so I’m guessing Zach forgot about the challenge where Laurel had to carry his fat crybaby ass up and down a mountain…
