I contemplated not reviewing the reunion, because they tend to be useless, but I guess we an continue beating some dead horses here.
Bananas still thinks Sarah screwed him over. And ultimately he’s right, she did stab him in the back. Johnny is convinced that Sarah is doing everything in her power to justify her decision. Really, her decision has been justified. Sarah won the final, and pegging Leroy against Bananas guaranteed that one of the toughest competitors wouldn’t be facing her in the end.
Here’s the reason Johnny looks like the fool, he thinks everyone cares. He’s talking about how Sarah can never do another Challenge because everyone will know she’s a liar. As much as I am sick of Sarah talking about how she has been the “good girl,” her loyalty really never got her anywhere. There’s also the fact that when Sarah returns to The Challenge she can defeat Johnny again because she really isn’t a bad competitor.
Theresa and Nany are still fighting, but no one really knows why.
Theresa allegedly talked shit about Nany while in her room at night, and Theresa insists that she doesn’t give a shit. Theresa likes to play it off like she doesn’t care yet she still engages in these fights with Nany. Zuri (the host) states that Averey and Nia also had shit with Nany, but Nany attributes Nia’s anger to Theresa’s shit talking (while Averey is clearly upset because Nany and Johnny hooked up).
Ultimately, the fighting between Theresa and Nany goes nowhere and we’re left with more questions than answers.
Nia’s actions are finally addressed, but and she apologizes. While there seems to be a shred of sincerity in the apology I can’t help but remember episode 10 when Jordan says he always gets the same apology from Nia. This seems to be that apology again.
Jordan really seems to be more concerned with the fact that Nia insulted everyone over the fact that she touched him. Again, Nia apologizes and states that her goal during the argument was to say the most hurtful things she could for the sake of causing hurt. She admits that she has an angry side and claims it’s not just for TV.
Sarah chimes in and says that most of the time people are just homesick and miss their families, but no one will outright say that’s what they’re feeling. Instead, they lash out at each other and relieve some of the frustration. The cast claps for this comment.
Leroy states that he was happy when he got Theresa as a partner, and didn’t feel bad for Nia because Nia wasn’t thinking about Jordan when she touched him. Oddly, Nia laughs and agrees and she is happy that Theresa got the second chance.
Zach continues to be kind of an asshole, and continues to give insincere apologies to Jonna. Nany states that Jonna is the nicest girl and then Jonna barks back says she doesn’t need any help. Jonna really feel Zach was an asshole to her. Still, Zach shows no remorse. His comments about the women in the cast are also addressed and while he states that he didn’t mean them literally, the comments were caught on a security camera and not regular cameras… as if this is a justifications.
Jay and Jenna get called out for quitting, but the cast only really addresses Jay. Jenna seems to have the support of everyone.
The cast talks about how they’re surprised that Jay quit over Jenna, but ultimately Jenna says that she would have continued. Of course she didn’t like the fishy sludge they had to drink but she would have choked it down for $15,000. Nia also tells Jay that he just isn’t Challenge material, seeminly forgetting that she quit the Wrecking Ball challenge. Jay gets kind of defensive, saying that he knows he should have gone into elimination but he would never volunteer himself. Bananas seems extra bitter that Jay made it to the final. Actually, Bananas just seems extra bitter in general.
The cast all seems to think Wes played a good game, and Wes agrees. Except Bananas disagrees and says that Wes makes too many promises in the beginning and at the end of the season they all come crashing down because he can’t keep them all.
Here’s where the biggest difference between Wes and Bananas lies. Wes seems like he moved on and knows this is a game. Bananas really isn’t over it. You can tell Wes does these Challenges because he wants a break from his everyday life while Bananas wants to make these Challenges his everyday life.
And the MVP of the season is……. Jenna? The cast seems to agree that she’s the MVP because she tried and gave it her all. Of course, this MVP nomination is started by Zach who is still kind of with Jenna. And seconded by Bananas who is super bitter at Sarah (who we all know is the real MVP).
-Jonna’s hair looked really good (in my opinion)
-For a show dedicated to Knight & Diem, they got very little recognition. However, Zach did choke up a little while talking about Knight.
-Jordan kept references to his hand to a minimum.
-Everyone on the reunion at least talk a little which is a rarity.
-Zach’s pit stains were out of control, but he kept his hat on the entire time.
i didnt watch the reunion so thank you for this recap! from what you have said here in your recap it sounds like i agree with a lot of it!
i do think that wes played a great game and even though he isnt one of my favorites i give the guy credit for being a genius! i also agree that he probably goes into these challenges to get away from everyday life!
im happy for sarah and i think she said it best during the season when she stated that its about winning the money and setting yourself to win that money! i think she made a smart move that anyone probably would of made (even bananas) if they were in her position! so congrats to sarah and jordan!
i am also happy for jenna and jay for making it to the finale being rookies! both did well and both (in my opinion) deserved to be there! yeah jay gave up but i kind of give him a break on this one because i feel like jay had been super supportive during the whole season!
im not really sure how i feel about zach so i probably shouldnt comment on it other than saying that zach isnt one of my favorite competitors on these shows but i respect what he brings to the shows! i wouldnt want to go up against him in a physical challenge LOL!
im also not really sure how to feel about NIA. i mean yes what she did was wrong i completely agree with that! as far as her appology id like to hope it was sincere! maybe she should skip a few upcoming challenges before making another appearance!
wish they would of talked more about diem and knight! both of them were awesome and both will be missed!
again, thank you for your recap! i look forward to reading your thoughts when the challenge and real world return next season!
I’m soooo glad Mosley wasn’t the host!
Anything without stoner Mosley is a positive. Jay and Jenna didn’t “deserve” to be there. They are there because they were the layup team meaning the worst team. Sarah needs to stop explaining whey she or anyone else owes Bananas anything. If he wants in the finals then he needs to earn it. Why would any sane person want to go up against the toughest competition? Let them eliminate each other and you’ve immediately upped your own odds of success. This game is not difficult.
I think why they didn’t talk about Knight and Diem was because they filmed right after they passed, right? It was probably too emotional for everyone
Bananas needs to get over it. OK you got screwed over and went home Big Whoop. Move on and do better the next challenge.
