Remember on Bloodlines how Vince kept failing at the missions? Allegedly he was throwing them so the red team (Bananas) could win. This season Vince has no reason to throw missions, but it still seems he has relied on Bananas throughout the season.
Now, Vince & Jenna are (almost) in the final, but they have avoided every elimination that wasn’t luck-based. Unlike Bloodlines, there is no denying the fact that Vince at least tried. They got off to a strong start, winning the first mission. However, their challenge success ends there. Ever since the first elimination they have not won a single challenge and have remained in the middle of the pact.
On the other hand, Bananas & Sarah won four missions, and kept Vince & Jenna safe every single time. When Vince was about to punch Thomas, Bananas was there to keep him in line. When Jenna was distracted by her relationship with Zach, Sarah was there to console her. There’s no denying these two teams have been aligned; they have a built in alliance because Vince is Banana’s cousin. While both teams were able to benefit each other in the game, there’s no denying Bananas & Sarah did more for the alliance.
Of course, we can’t overlook the fact that Vince & Jenna did win a challenge and never came in last. It’s not like either of them completely failed in a mission, so their mediocracy allowed Bananas & Sarah to make moves without having to cater to their safety. Essentially, they just flew under the radar and made decision making easy for Bananas & Sarah.
Ultimately, they do not seem to pose a threat. A lot of people expect Vince to be a star athlete but he was never a stellar performer. Jenna has consistently performed well, or at least decently, but has never been able to make up for the fact that Vince is just alright. Even though they never carried Bananas & Sarah, they allowed Bananas & Sarah to make whichever moves they pleased. Perhaps the underwhelmed, but they served as a great accessory to Bananas & Sarah’s game.
