Challenge: All Stars 2

The Challenge All Stars 2: Episode 2 Old School Overview

All the old school moments to make Episode 2 of All Stars 2 make sense.

Picking up where we left off. Ayanna and Nehemiah are heading to elimination. Here are all the details you need to know to make sense of the story on episode 2. If you want to know everything that happened, just stream the show on Paramount+.

1. Friends or Foe

Derrick and Nehemiah seem to have an odd relationship. Apparently, they don’t see eye-to-eye, and this stems from All Stars, because they only did one main-series show together: The Duel. On that season they weren’t close, but Nehemiah was a rookie and Derrick was on his fifth season. Still, Derrick asks Nehemiah who he’d like to compete against. Nehemiah says Ryan because he beat him in the past on The Gauntlet 3.

2. The Selection Process

The voting process is a mix between The Inferno and Rivals 3. The winning team votes in two men and two women. Then, the house gets to send one man and one woman into The Arena. Derek and Leah get sent in and Steve and Casey are safe.

3. Prom Night

The cast decides to have a “prom.” Perhaps they forgot this was The Challenge All Stars rather than 16 & Pregnant All Stars. Tyler and Derek dress in drag, but they’re part of the LGBTQ+ community. It’s not an insulting joke like other cast members have made it in the past.

4. Marker Memorial

Sadly, we find out Derek’s sister committed suicide a day before he left for the show. To honor her, Derek writes “BRE” on his arm in a heart before elimination. Honoring family members and communities through body art is a longstanding tradition. Rivals 2 had a lot of it, with Diem wearing MEDGIFT and CT and Cara Maria wearing #BOSTONSTRONG.

5. Pulling to Win

The elimination is called Dead Weight, and it’s honestly pretty unique. It requires competitors to solve those shitty math problems you see on Facebook and then pull 300 pound sleds. It’s most akin to Human Ox Pull on Fresh Meat or Dog Day Afternoon on Inferno 3.

6. … and the Lifeshield Goes to…

Nehemiah and Ayanna receive Lifeshields for winning in The Arena. These can be used to save themselves or a friend after the challenge. We’ve never seen a proper Lifeshield awarded to elimination winners. The closest thing is Grenades on Vendettas.
