On the night of March 5, 2023, KJ Osborn was in an Uber when he and the driver spotted a car on fire by the side of the road. So, the two sprung into action (along with two other people) and pulled the man from the car.
Flash forward a week and a half, and Nelson reveals he was the man in the car. And, the Challenge veteran is extremely thankful the four good samaritans sprung into action.

Nelson is lucky to be alive, but he also sustained many injuries. From the looks of it, he has nails and a plate in his right ankle to treat the damage. And, he has been receiving help to walk around and regain his mobility.
Needless to say, he has a long road to recovery, but he also seems to be aware that this is better than the alternative, and he’s working to heal his body.
This treatment, while necessary, isn’t free. And we all know MTV’s health insurance policy is non-existent. So, he has a GoFundMe open for anyone who is able to contribute to his medical bills.
Here’s to hoping Nelson gets back on his feet (literally) sooner than later. He’s so lucky that people stopped and saved his life, because his car was totaled and his outcome could have been much worse. I hope he gets the best treatment and will be back on The Challenge in the near future.
If he lived in any other industrialized nation he would be covered by nationalized healthcare. Why should fans have to pay for his bills, when he likely has done nothing to oppose America’s corrupt healthcare system of greed.
