We’ve know it was coming, but season 42 has finally been announced. Here are the key details:
Name: Cutthroat — not Cutthroat 2. It’s a rebrand, not a sequel.
Premiere: Wednesday, August 5. Episodes drop at 3 am est/ 12 am pst.
Platform: Paramount+

We did get a new trailer to build hype, and it was fairly average for a pre-season teaser. We were able to see the setting in Thailand and a few confessionals, which were pretty cool. It seems like this season is leaning into the city environment more than we’ve seen in the past.
The trailer also spoiled the big twist at the end of the season: The captain of the winning team will have the sole power to split the money however they see fit.
The other exciting twist was a “trial by combat” elimination. While we don’t know who will show up for the competition, the UFC branding is in clear view.
We only have three weeks until the first episode; not much of a wait. So Paramount needs to start building hype!
