Three-time Challenge champion Kenny Santucci has dipped his toe back into the Challenge universe. He spoke with the Challenge Mania Podcast, and once again, he discussed the incident that ended his time with MTV.
During the episode, Kenny made a statement about the lawsuit from The Ruins (he segues into the topic around the 23-minute mark, but he really discusses MTV around 24:30). As Kenny has stated in the past, he denies any legal wrongdoing.

I specifically say “legal” wrongdoing because Kenny alludes to some type of joke that went wrong, claiming that he was a dumb 25-year-old kid. He claims he was drinking and telling jokes, but doesn’t elaborate further. However, he swears he never touched Tonya. He asked Derrick, “Did anyone fuckin’ touch this broad?” and Derrick confirmed he did not witness any wrongdoing.
Once the claims came to light, Kenny said Bunim/Murray Productions (BMP) wanted him to just shut up and say nothing. Then, they paid to settle the lawsuit so they could move on. Kenny didn’t pay a dollar of his own money, and he believes BMP wanted to nip the lawsuit in the bud before it drained more money and caused more negative publicity.
Despite this, Kenny says he still loses opportunities because he was involved in the scandal, but he can now reframe it. He feels it happened for a reason because it helped him navigate into a successful health and fitness career.
Challenge Mania host Scott Yager also leaned into the awkwardness, acknowledging that Kenny has only started talking about the incident after more than a decade of tiptoeing around it. While Kenny didn’t directly answer this question, he seems to be much more secure in his career.
Kenny also seems to have come to terms with the fact that some people will believe you and some people won’t. He admits that he was in a much darker mental space after the allegations came to light, and he was struggling to find opportunities. He’s now more confident… then he shared his thoughts on cancel culture.
If you want to get caught up with Kenny, especially because he hasn’t been on the show in 15 years, the full episode is an interesting listen.
