Challenge veteran Kailah Casillas and her husband (and Ride or Dies competitor) Sam Bird have been keeping a secret — they had a baby!
The couple had been secretly documenting their journey: from Kailah telling Sam, to the gender reveal, to telling their parents. This morning, the couple shared an Instagram Reel highlighting moments from Kailah’s pregnancy.

While many specific details are still unknown, the couple did share that their son, Sunny Bird, has been born.
So, what’s with the secrecy? After all, these two are reality stars who have historically been public with their lives.
Kailah wrote about her decision to keep her pregnancy journey private on her Substack. She revealed that she traveled to Thailand earlier this year for in vitro fertilization treatments. Coincidentally, this was shortly before Cutthroat started filming, and Kailah met up with Nany during this time. This led to rumors that Nany was on the Cutthroat cast (she even partied with the season’s finalists because she was still in Thailand).
In reality, Kailah and Sam were relaxing in Thailand, hoping the low-stress environment would help the IVF drugs. Kailah admits she didn’t want to jinx her process. Anyone who knows about IVF knows it can be a long journey; treatments aren’t always successful, and it’s an emotional process without sharing updates with others.
Fortunately, Kailah and Sam’s treatments were successful, and they eventually shared their journey with their close friends and family. But Kailah wanted to experience her pregnancy privately before sharing it with the public.
Now that her son has been born, Kailah feels comfortable sharing some details, but she’s facing another decision: how much of her son’s life does she want to make public?
Time will tell if we see more of Kailah and Sam’s son, but the couple has a reason to celebrate. The two seem happy to share major milestones like the expansion of their family, even if some details aren’t going to be posted online.
Congratulations to Kailah and Sam! Sunny is very lucky to have such loving parents.
