The Challenge XXX: Top Moment from Episode 15

We’re getting close to the final cliffhanger, and then the final episode.

1. Cracking the Code

The redemption challenge happens fairly quickly. TJ doesn’t show up to ask who wants revenge on whom, they just jump into the game. In this game, competitors must poke their head through holes and use a key to determine a series of numbers on a huge grid. While this is happening the competitors still in the game can walk around and smack the redemption competitors on the head with a foam hammer. The numbers correspond to a code for a lock that will unlock puzzle pieces. The fastest female and fastest two males (thanks Nelson!) to solve their puzzles will return to the game. For the women, Cara Maria unlocks her pieces first with Britni following close behind. However, Cara Maria solves the puzzle first. For the men, CT solves the puzzle the fastest while Jordan comes in second, so both of them return to the game. Surprisingly, Bananas doesn’t even make it to the puzzle, which Jemmye thinks is karma for stealing Sarah’s money on Rivals 3.

2. The Dreaded Conversation

The final five males and females are in the game and they’re treated to dinner at an Italian restaurant. During dinner, Cara Maria tells Kailah she wants to talk when they get home. While Kailah feels Cara Maria is being bossy and using intimidation techniques, they do have a conversation. Cara Maria claims she would have never turned on Kailah or Jenna, but Kailah said she was in the minority when sending Cara Maria to redemption because Britni and Veronica wanted it to happen. The conversation is pretty civil, but it doesn’t really solve anything. They’re not going to work together, but there isn’t much time left for alliances anyway.

3. Dropping Bombs

The cast shows up for the next challenge, but before the game begins TJ has some surprises to share with the cast. He reveals that they’re playing for their share of $1,000,000… not the $350,000 he previously mentioned. The cast gets excited until he reveals the second twist: they are taking part in the second Purge. At the end of this first event, two males and two females will secure their spot in the final while the remaining six competitors will have to fight for the one remaining male and female spots.

4. Team Terror

TJ announces the first part of The Purge called X Marks the Spot will be played as teams. Cara Maria runs to CT leaving Camila to default to Derrick. Jordan picks Tori, who he has stated he wants to run a final with. Kailah is paired with Hunter, and despite their mutual hatred they both feel strong. Tony and Jenna pair together, probably because there were no other options. There are multiple stages in the game including running to a large crate, rolling the crate to a station where it will be opened with a crow bar, using a series of ropes to solve a puzzle that will locate a bag of puzzle pieces, then digging and retrieving the pieces. Jordan and Tori take the lead early and hold it most of the game, but Cara Maria and CT are close behind. Camila and Derrick are doing alright, but Hunter can’t open the crate because he has a broken hand and Tony can’t open the crate because he’s never received mail before. Ultimatley, Tori and Jordan get their bag of pieces first with CT and Cara Maria right behind.

5. The Missing Piece

The retrieved puzzle pieces will be used to solve a puzzle individually. CT finishes first, and Cara Maria finishes second. By the time they’re done, Derrick and Camila have started their puzzle which worries Jordan and Tori, but then Tori finishes. Tony and Hunter manage to get to the puzzle, and Jordan is struggling. Luckily, his partner Tori lets him know that he left a puzzle piece next to his bag. Jordan feels like an idiot, but with his missing piece he solves the puzzle quickly and earns his spot in the final alongside CT, Cara Maria, and Tori.
